In 2017, we purchased the 99 year lease for Sea Lion Island and Lodge under our new company, Wild Falklands Ltd. Our plan is to develop a very personal Lodge that strongly reflects environmentally sustainable practices, operated to the highest standard of hospitality and customer services, whilst offering our expert knowledge on the Falkland’s wildlife. Our ultimate goal is to develop Sea Lion Island into a flagship destination for nature tourism and conservation at the Falklands.
Over the upcoming years we will be reinvesting into the Island, with essential building works and increasing the renewal energy capacity having already started. Alongside this, we will continue habitat restoration activities, such as planting tussac grass, to help off-set our carbon footprint. We are excited to undertake this new chapter for Sea Lion Island and look forward to welcoming guests to experience this journey with us.

Micky Reeves

Born in Hill Cove, West Falklands, Micky’s adventure at Sea Lion Island began in 2015 when he started as the day to day Lodge manager. His experience includes managing wildlife tourist sites at the Falklands, and in 2012 Micky led a research project focussed on the Falkland Islands’ raptors. As a keen bird photographer Micky has gained unparalleled knowledge of the Falklands’ wildlife.
Sarah Crofts

Arriving to the Falklands in 2004, Sarah gained substantial experience working in the Falklands’ environmental sector, for the Falkland Islands Fisheries Department and at Falklands Conservation, specifically on seabird conservation. Sarah’s specialised knowledge on seabirds, specifically penguins, has given her the chance to visit many of the Falklands’ offshore islands as well as being involved with international conservation initiatives.
